The Suit…

After blogging about John Dillinger yesterday, I decided to rock a suit to work today. It’s a 6 button, double breasted wool fabric…I like a 2 inch cuff on my pants, and typically choose suits that do not require a belt..(more old school) It’s my personal choice…

I started my day wearing this piece true to a classic traditional look…I felt gangster after all the research on Dillinger and decided to wear a black shirt with a black tie, added a tie bar in for detail and wore my brown wingtip shoe boots (I didn’t want to be too matchie matchie with a black shoe). I finished off the double breasted blazer with a pocket square I purchased in NYC at the RRL store on Bleecker St…figured blue, maroon, and yellow would add a cool finishing touch…I probably sound like a broken record but it’s all made by Ralph Lauren.

To be honest I didn’t feel like myself with the way I dressed my suit this morning.  Felt kinda stiff and uptight for who I really am. So I stopped home to see my beautiful wife and of course Pudster and added a few changes, expressing my true personality threw my clothes…

I began re-building my new outfit in my mind driving home from a work meeting…I changed the black shirt to a flannel, added a brown vest and changed the knot in the tie from a “half-windsor” to a “four in hand knot”. I really pulled it for effect, and lost the tie bar…I then grabbed a newspaper boy hat, (I love hats) and switched my pocket square to one of pudster’s bandannas. I finished it all off with a pair of farm boots. (farmers do it better)

The point is whatever works… Ralph Lauren clothing can be worn sophisticated or edgy and it’s all like lego’s…interchangeable. I do my best to stay true to my personality when I dress. Either way “use me” to be creative with your own style…Ralph  Lauren makes great clothing.
