My Dad popped in my mind this morning. I woke up @ 5:15 a.m….I actually love rising early…It’s quiet and I have an opportunity to catch my breath and gather my thoughts to tackle my day without any interruptions. I do what I do almost every morning, and started my work day @ around 8:30 a.m…The blog title came into play on the parkway drinking my 2nd cup of Pike’s place, milk and 2 splenda. My mind is moving at the speed of light sometimes…oh well, could always be worse. I’m grateful my brain is still firing LOL…The inspiration for the title comes from a childhood learning experience…. I was having a lot of trouble with some of the older neighborhood kids at the bus stop when I was growing up. I vividly remember waiting on the green shag rug stairs by the front door for my Dad to come home from work…I couldn’t wait to tell him of my worries…I figured he was going to come down to the bus stop in the morning and straighten out these boy’s…He walked threw the front door @ about 8:00 p.m. or so…I remember it being dark outside when he got home, and I was so relieved to see my father. I explained my fear and worry to him while he listened patiently until I was done..I knew he was coming with me to the bus stop tomorrow to straighten everything out…That’s not the answer I got. My Dad told me to march down to that bus stop with my brother Mark Christopher tomorrow and “Stand on my Rock” …There was no rock there I thought to myself?? He kept telling me to stand on my rock and stay on it no matter what…and under any circumstances, do not let anyone “Push me off my Rock”…I understand that story better as an adult than I did that day as a kid…Listen, I can’t find my phone half of the time….I loose my truck keys every 3rd day, usually misplace my Nano, and at times have a difficult time remembering my own name…But I remember sitting on those green shag rug stairs waiting for my father to come threw the door and give me the answer I didn’t want to hear like it was yesterday…Life is full of valuable lessons. “the hard road is the right road” Jesus Christ I got off track…Back to Denim. Day 3 and still rockin the same jeans. I really layered myself today as you can see in the run of photos. I started with a green bandanna and used it as a necktie…Besides the bow-tie I’m makin this my signature look…”Everyone should have a signature style”…I put a Henley on, added my V-neck grey cashmere sweater, grabbed a pattern blue Ralph Lauren vest…and finished it with a brown cashmere tweed button up sweater. I added my farm boots, and brown belt…oh yeah..I am rockin a pair of non-prescription glasses for a soft intellectual look, they’re made by Ralph Lauren, the Henley, blue vest, brown tweed button up sweater, and boots are also made by RL….My denim is starting to take shape to my body…the waist is beginning to stretch, they fit me nicer in the back end area, and are getting a softer feel. I don’t wash my denim jeans unless absolutely necessary. Hope you enjoy this next run of photos…
