I have worked construction more than 75% of my life and damn proud of it….Anybody who’s putting 10 hours of hard physical labor in 5 days a week, I take my hat off to ya…Maybe that’s why I like rugged wear so much…I threw this together yesterday mid morning before we left the house to create Elena’s blog day…. Carhartt meets Ralph Lauren, Barbour, and the Jean Shop…I’m Diggin these new jeans…..ALOT!! Gonna wear them all week, creating all different kinds of outfits built around my denim…Lego’s Baby!! Interchange your wardrobe….Here’s a couple of shots Elena snapped of me yesterday…I grabbed a maroon bandanna, used it as a neck tie, put on a white Henley (3 button pull over cotton shirt) layered it with a brown Ralph Lauren wool vest, and belted my favorite new jeans I had distressed and painted by Alex Davranov from the Jean Shop. Pulled on my Carhartt boots, and added my Barbour Jacket…I used a black belt and buckled it off to the side….I like how it looks, gives the outfit contrast….

CHECK THIS OUT…….THE CHANGE UP!!!!
I kept the jeans and Barbour jacket in play this morning….I actually created today’s outfit in my mind last night before I fell asleep…It helps me relax…Hey it beats medication right…Okay here it is, Used a dress shirt with a white collar and it has blue and white strips with a hint of black pin stripping….Grabbed a bow-tie which is maroon, and blue with a hint of yellow….I wanted the bow tie to pick up the girl (supposed to be Hot Cakes) which is hand painted on my denim, layered it with my black and grey tweed vest, swapped out the black belt for a light brown one. Finally I switched the Carhartt boots for tan pair of rounded wingtips…Put on my Barbour jacket and blue pin stripped news paperboy cap…I figured the cap would pick up the color of my shirt….Ready for Monday morning’s work day…Hope you like this next run of photos…I felt so good this morning heading out of the house to conquer my day one bite at a time….My mom would always tell me and my brother Mark Christopher ” Life by the Inch is a Cinch, Life by the Yard is Hard”…She’s right!!!Enjoy….

The song of choice today is ‘Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd. The first time I heard it was in 1979.. I was with Kenny ‘Mac” McKenna Raising Hell.. He loved this Tune.. Kenny went home to god almost 4 years ago..I thought about”Mac” while I was holding the baseball today in the photos, Kenny played Baseball like nobody’s Business..
